Backpacking is not as famous here compared in other European countries or in the United States. Although there are some backpacking sites in the Philippines (or at least have the name in its website’s title), still Filipinos know this kind of activity by other names – hiking, mountaineering.
Backpacking is like hiking and not necessarily hiking in mountains (mountaineering) .. Backpacking is basically, getting your stuff together in your backpack and go somewhere. That’s stuff in your backpack is suppose to be you life. It must contains all the basic but necessary things to survive in the wilderness outdoors.
Things To Prepare When Backpacking
Here are a couple of things, must-haves, if you are planning to go on hiking backpacking:
- Backpacking gears – This includes your jacket, boots, harness (if you’re expecting to do a little climbing) etc. These backpacking gears really are the thing that don’t go inside the backpack unless you have spares. What every kind of gearsĀ you have make sure that it’s something that does have a badge of quality.
- Backpacking Foods – How long you will be doing your backpacking is a big factor in choosing the right kinds of backpacking food to bring. There are several companies that sell products specifically made for backpackers. You can choose from a variety of backpacking food items. Most of these products come in either re-sealable packs or in single packs that can be thrown away once you finish that serving. Most of the backpacking food provided by these companies are organic and are very healthy. You could even choose to buy organic scrambled eggs and organic lasagna!
- Backpacking Equipments – Don’t mistake these for the backpacking gears. Backpacking equipments includes the tents or sleeping bags, the stove, cook wares, flash lights, first aid kids and others.
Those are the 3 basic but must-have stuff to think about bringing when you are planning to backpack across europe, or anywhere in that matter. I could include a Backpacking for Dummies book for more backpacking tips and guides, but that could add up to the weight.. and you should read that book at home prior to the adventure anyway.
So, that’s it.. Enjoy your trip!
