The buzz is all over the internet! Good thing I checked my Google Alerts for “Stephen King“! Apparently there are negotiation and they have been working on a possible sequel for Stephen King’s 1977 hit, “The Shinning“!

Here’s the some ‘spoilers’ or initial plan for the sequel..

“Danny is now 40 years old and living in upstate New York, where he works as the equivalent of an orderly at a hospice for the terminally ill. Danny’s real job is to visit with patients who are just about to pass on to the other side, and to help them make that journey with the aid of his mysterious powers. Danny also has a sideline in betting on the horses, a trick he learned from his buddy Dick Hallorann.”

Also the initial title for the sequel is called “Doctor Sleep”.

Here’s what Stephen King supposed to be thinking or that give him the idea of the sequel for The Shinning….

“Seems King was wondering whatever happened to Danny Torrance of The Shining, who when readers last saw him was recovering from his ordeal at the Overlook Hotel at a resort in Maine with fellow survivors Wendy Torrance and chef Dick Halloran (who dies in the Kubrick film version),” the Torontoist reports. “King remarked that though he ended his 1977 novel on a positive note, the Overlook was bound to have left young Danny with a lifetime’s worth of emotional scars. What Danny made of those traumatic experiences, and with the psychic powers that saved him from his father at the Overlook, is a question that King believes might make a damn fine sequel.”

All you Stephen King fans, let’s all wait for further news shall we?

And the countdown continues as the days of our Canada stay comes, we wait. It’s October 14 and 17 more days till we go back to the Philippines.

Today, Tuesday, first work day of the 2nd work week of October… Lapit na talaga umuwi. Went to work today and just like yesterday (and the day before that, and the day before) it was darn cold! Breath are frozen in an instant it went out of my mouth.

Anyway, after office, Marito drove us to Metrotown/Superstore. The guys bought chocolates I bought for myself Stephen King‘s Lisey’s Story… I was going to buy “Durma Key” but ended up buying the $18.99 (with 20% discount) Lisey’s Story.

Pardon the room… I woke up late this morning and hurried up to work… when I got back from work the mall, that’s what apparently the state i left it in. Another item for my collection. Will take some qoutes from it and already created a fictional blog for it, hehehe, (what?! Another blog?!)

I am a big fan of Stephen King. I have been collecting his books since the sophomore college days. First book ever was Firestarter! First movie/TV special was “The Stand”. Since then, I lost count of the Stephen King books that I bought. I always scour every book sale and every book store there is in search of another Stephen King item for collection (of course I read most of it… :)

Latest item that I owned was “The Dark Tower” Comics adaptation of Marvel Comics. I haven’t read all of them. Matter of fact, some (3?) are still in their original plastic… Afraid that I might greased it.

Now, the news are all over the internet that Marvel Comics will again make another graphical novel. Another Stephen King masterpiece, the apocalyptic “The Stand”

The schedule for the first release will be on September 2008!

Fans of Mr. King and all other ‘constant reader’ are patiently waiting… me included.
