Amidst all the controversy and intrigued behind the much talked about music event of the year – The Eraserheads Reunion Concert – the band dubbed as the Pinoy Beatles has finally came together and did their first band rehearsal!

This was what Raimund Marasigan posted on Sandwich’s malling list the other day, and was qoutes quoted:

last monday the erserheads met and rehearsed for the first time.

nobody knew what to expect. it was a little uncomfortable since we
havent communicated for a long time. but im pleased to announce that
the band was playing better than i ever remembered. i guess we all did
our homework haha.

i wont say how many songs we finished but it was a lot. there was a
lot of drums and no drama.

That’s one great news to the waiting and excited E-heads fans everywhere. Though we are all hoping that the concert will push through, at least the four band members finally met after all these years, right?

Yep, this is just the first part. Why? Coz it’s late and I want to go to sleep. *grin* I’ll probably embed some ‘video’ footage I took from the show (c/o yutube)

For the first part, I just want to post a quick update on what happened during the show and the songs the band sang! The lights, the sounds, the band are great!

Overall, the show/concert I believe was a success! Knowing our fellow pinoys, we all are kind of shy type, ,reserved people but during the how, everyone was shouting, dancing, stomping their feet, singing along (when they know the line… yeah that’s ‘hanging by the moment’)

This was Lifehouse first time here in the Philippines and according to Jason Wade himself, he enjoyed every bit of it… and the band said they fell in love with the Philippines…. I’m glad to know the band feels that way.

Anyway, got there around 5:00pm (very early I know, show was scheduled at 8:00pm). Then at exactly 8:00pm a DJ from 89.9 (?) and two hot MTV VJ chics did a lot bablah about the sponsors and gave away some souvenirs.

Then it’s the band turn… Everyone was hysterical… yeah sure, including the all conservative and shy little me.

Here’s the band’s repertoire… or let’s put it on part 2 shall we? I’m a little too sleepy to write… But they open up the show with the song “Spin”… cool song!

Congrats to Lifehouse for a successful show and hope they come back here… they do have a handful of fans here… akala ko nga di mapupuno araneta eh.. They actually fill the Araneta up! wow!

(Let’s see if the Eraserheads reunion concert will top this off… 10,000 din expected audience eh)

It looks real enough right? Looks like the promoter of the Eraserheads concert event is Marlboro, yes the cigarette.. So better registered to their site and get informed on how to get one of those eraserheads tickets!

Sayang parin,  iwont be able to watch them… Darn!

I’m ready! Have my lifehouse concert tickets with me and just waiting for the 26th of the month… Hopefully, we’re still here in the Philippines to be able to watch the lifehouse live in manila event (we’ll be going to Canada anytime soon for a two-month, company sponsored training).

Who amongst here who grew up in the 1990′s, have never heard of the Filipino fab-four phenomena called the Eraseheads?

The biggest and well known band of our time, Eraseheads, are rumored to have a one night reunion concert somewhere near the Pasay area with an expectant audience (capacity) of 35,000! How big is that?! It’s like at least 3 Araneta Coliseums!

I’m not the promoter here, mind you. I’m just passing the news! I’m a big fan! I got their first 3 CD! (yeah, fruitcake was my last one… personally, a trying hard attempt for a ‘Salt and Pepper’)

UPDATE:

• It is confirmed that Philip Morris (PM) will sponsor(?)/Organized(?) the reunion concert
• DOH may have to interfere coz of PM violation of the law
• Eraserheads members met up and rehearse for the first time
• August 13, The Venue for the concert will be on The Fort Open Ground and no longer on CCP, as previously reported… the official ‘tickets’ for the event though, we still have no news.
• August 21 post, Eraserheads did their second rehearsal!
• August 22 post, Eraserheads Concert CANCELLED?! Damn!
• August 25 post, Eraserheads concert, tuloy na tuloy na! Di na nga lang free, pero ayus pa rin!
