There’s a new budding browser game that is getting a lot of attention in the past weeks. The online game is called IKARIAM.

From the official website’s own words:

Ikariam is a free browser game. The player´s challenge is to lead a people through the ancient world. To build towns, trade and conquer islands.

Ikariam is an online real-time strategy game where you have to manage your resources to extend your imperium from a small settlement in a forsaken island to a complex network of cities and colonies.

This is just like any other full commercial strategy game available (WarCraft, starcraft, Civilization and Red Alerts are some examples)

IKARIAM’s  theme is based around the Mediterranean coast. Perfect! Since history shows that the MEditerraneon is the place where many civilizations come and go, trade and fight.

Keeping this very spirit, Ikariam is bases around two concepts: trade and fight your neighbors to get the desires and rare resources that your cities need to keep expanding.
