Linkshare (www.linkshare.com) is one of the well known affiliate network company for physical products. I joined them as an affiliate couple of years ago with my now defunct (de-indexed) Chandelier site. If you check out that site now, it uses a free theme, but during its initial months uses Apptheme – Premium Classified Ads Theme.

Anyway, this quick and short post is about my first payment from Linkshare! Yes, after almost a year of being an affiliate with an insect-catching device and after almost a year of putting up my affiliate website designed to sell that gadget (mosquito magnets), I finally reached the payment threshold of $250!

The amount is not at all that impressive. But the fact that I have not made any backlinks on the site for months and still maintains its number 1 ranking is good feeling, lifts up your ego and builds confidence in SEO or something.

With that earning, it already paid for itself ($10/year for the domain name and web hosting with hostmonster – shared hosting) I think I will let this site to stay online for another year  (until you, reading this post, creates a similar site and out rank mine :)) and renew this domain come June 2012.

Many of you may think that I made a terrible mistake of revealing my niche site to the public. Mistake or not, it’s alright by me. I just want to share with you other websites where you can affiliate yourself with and let you know that there are other alternatives for Clickbank.

You can register with Linkshare now, build your site and apply for the same company. I really do not mind. In fact, I am also sharing some of the keywords related to the niche. Check out the screen shot below from Micro Niche Finder – my favorite keyword research tool.

You may notice from the image below is that I am quite an impulsive buyer of domain. The same day that I saw the Mosquito Magnet Reviews keyword with 1000 searching a month, I immediate register the available .org domain – June 01, 2011.

Anyway, it’s your turn now. Go ahead and go to linkshare, search for an interesting product, do proper keyword research (search volume, competition, commercial value etc) and take action. The longer you delay, the longer you are keeping yourself from making money online.

One last thing, I want to share the SEO stuff that I did that made this site number 1 in Google for months now. Yeah its not that competitive but the same principle and techniques can be applied to other moderately competitive keywords.

I think SEO Spy Glass is the last tool that I need in this SEO/Internet marketing thing that I do. From my last post, I talked about and discussed what Scrapebox is and what it can do. In this post, I will try and review and show you what SEO Spy Glass can do for your business.

I registered my free copy of SEO spy glass last March 7 after getting unsatisfied with the limitation of the free version.

There are some many links in the free version that is not getting displayed. I also would like to save the report that I ran and I can not do that with the free version. I do not want to run the same project each time. That is a complete waste of time. Why Would you want to use Proxies for Scrapebox

Very simple really, if you plan to harvest and scrape regularly to get hundreds and thousands of URLs, your IP address will definitely get banned by the search engines.

I also created this post for my own reference.. so i can remember how I can find my own Scrapebox proxy sources for my own use.. and yours too.

If you look for your own proxy list it will not be used by everyone else and it will last longer. It’s really a good ideas to get your own proxy sources.

Quick notes:

Here’s how you add a source Proxy URL:

• Find static sites that do not require login and that is often times updated with new list of proxies
• Manage
• Harvest
• Add Source
• By Typing URL

Here are ways to find the free public proxy sources:

• Google “proxy forum” – http://www.dcsproxy.com/  but you can’t use the URL since you need to be logged in
• Find public, regular pages that does not require authentication
• proxyfire.net provides a public free proxy list, you can then copy the URL to the “Add Source” section
• Another source is from the Poster’s signature where they put in their proxy site that they regularly updates
• There usually have the list , plus they have a “Proxy List” link, check that link too
• we call it Breadcrumps.

If you have any doubt if the Google Webmaster’s Reconsideration Request really works or if you are asking yourself if there are people behind that service where they check your site if you submitted a recon request, well doubt no more.. they do visit your site out and check if you are worthy of putting back in their index.

1 Year Old Dead Site

I have this affiliate website in the ‘singing’ niche that is basically dead in Google for a year or so (but ranking really good in Yahoo) that I again decided to submit a reconsideration request to Google.

This was actually my third or fourth time that I submitted a request and only this latest one that Google reindexed the site! I just thought of resubmitting it because one of my Adsense niche site was reinstated in their index after i submitted a request a few weeks ago!

Anyway, looks like the folks at Google are pretty busy checking and reviewing all those request and promptly replying and responding to each request.

I submitted mine February 27 and got a reply March 1!

I immediately check my site in Google’s index and found that 3 of them are indexed! Yeah! And some keywords that are used to be in page 1 are currently ranking at page 5! Yeah! That’s better than nothing and according to Google, it may take a while for the complete ranking and indexing status of my site goes to normal in Google.. So I’ll just wait.. Yeah!

Looks like when you have extra money you tend to buy stuff that you thought you like or need but after you bought it, it feels like its not a smart decision.

I think this week I made a few impulsive buying spree of WSO and other tools.

The biggest one is a membership group headed by one of the biggest name in Internet Marketing.. I’m sure you know what the Reese Report is and the man behind it?

I also bought Bill Guthie’s WSO about building a site that is authoritative on its own with curated content. I learned a thing or two from that blueprint. It is called Marketing Social Blueprint. The price was $9.95 but I also took the OTO (one time offer) which is a video series, a watch-over-the-shoulder videos where Bill will be creating a site based on MSB from scratch.

Much more nuggets of information I learned is from Insiders Secret Club – I learned a few things about Solo Ads, affiliating with CPA networks, how to get approved with them and other things. I also applied with NeverBlue and now they emailed me for proof of my affiliate earnings.

You know what, I think these spending are fine.. I really have to invest on IM knowledge… You should too if you money to spare.
