Eraserheads One Night Reunion Concert?
Who amongst here who grew up in the 1990’s, have never heard of the Filipino fab-four phenomena called the Eraseheads?
The biggest and well known band of our time, Eraseheads, are rumored to have a one night reunion concert somewhere near the Pasay area with an expectant audience (capacity) of 35,000! How big is that?! It’s like at least 3 Araneta Coliseums!
I’m not the promoter here, mind you. I’m just passing the news! I’m a big fan! I got their first 3 CD! (yeah, fruitcake was my last one… personally, a trying hard attempt for a ‘Salt and Pepper’)

UPDATE:
- It is confirmed that Philip Morris (PM) will sponsor(?)/Organized(?) the reunion concert
- DOH may have to interfere coz of PM violation of the law
- Eraserheads members met up and rehearse for the first time
- August 13, The Venue for the concert will be on The Fort Open Ground and no longer on CCP, as previously reported… the official ‘tickets’ for the event though, we still have no news.
- August 21 post, Eraserheads did their second rehearsal!
- August 22 post, Eraserheads Concert CANCELLED?! Damn!
- August 25 post, Eraserheads concert, tuloy na tuloy na! Di na nga lang free, pero ayus pa rin!

I watched the news last night and saw Ely on tv. He confirmed the concert at CCP open ground on August 30.
How can I get ticket to watch the concert…

i’m just 17 years old as well, turning 18 in 5 mos. i’m asking my dad to register for me, think they’ll check the ticket with the registration profile? coz then i’ll be done for, since it’s my dad who’s registered.

DOH Says Marlboro Sponsorship of Eraserheads Concert Illegal
It having been confirmed (by Howie Severino at GMA and by Jim Ayson at Philmusic. that Philip Morris is sponsoring the August 30 Eraserheads reunion concert, the Department of Health pipes in and says that such sponsorship is illegal. I had previously written about the Philip Morris legal conundrum . The Inquirer reports that the DoH and other “health groups” were exploring the possibility of filing charges against the tobacco giant, and Philip Morris seems to be gearing up for its defense.
But [Philip Morris CEO Louis C.] Camilleri argued the concert was by “invitation only†and open only to adults who have registered online to Marlboro’s mailing list or the “Red List,†Limpin said, quoting the tobacco executive’s letter addressed to Matthew Myers of Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids (CTFC).
“Invitations cannot be purchased and are not transferable. Controls will be in place at all entry points to the event to ensure that only persons with invitations are allowed to enter and to verify that they are adults by double checking their government-issued IDs,†Camilleri said in his letter.
Philip Morris might have the stomach for a protracted legal battle over the Eraserheads concert, since any concession now on their part that they are barred from sponsoring this concert will most definitely preclude them from even trying to stage other concerts in the future, until the law is amended. But I wonder whether Buddy, Ely, Marcus and Raimund would also have the stomach to remain at the center of this controversy, considering that there is no indication that they have grown to like each other again
I won’t be surprised if at the end of this, it would be the band itself which will “back out” of the gig, “para wala nang gulo.” In such a case, PM/Marlboro still retains all the free publicity, a disclaimer that the concert did not push through not because of the legal ban but because of the band itself, and more time to prepare a legal vehicle or scheme come the next concert.
The E-heads will have whetted up enough appetite and anticipation should they be inclined to stage another reunion concert. The DoH and the health groups can say that they stood their ground and enforced the law. So, everybody wins.

ang problema lang natin, kapag naglabas ng TRO sa araw ng concert. kaya sana ikalat na lang natin sa lahat ng mga blog na wag naman sanang harangin ng DOH itong concert na ‘to. matagal na ang red list campaign ng marlboro pero bat ngayon lang sila magre-react. ang balita namin binubuyo sila ng fortune tobacco (manu. ng hope at winston). payo ko kay lucio tan, gumaya na lang sila…magpa reunion concert din sila! how about april boys reunion concert or bing rodrigo back to back victor wood.
