Connecting my 30G iPod Classic on my Mazda 3 sedan is what this post is all about… well not yet. I’ll be waiting for the Axxess Ipod interface thing I bought yesterday. It will probably arrive some time next month, or before February.
Axxess iPod/Aux/XM Integration Kit for Mazda
The Axxess, or by model, XIA-I01 interface is designed to allow the user to play an iPod, XM satellite radio, or auxiliary audio through a vehicle’s factory audio system. Any two of the three audio inputs can be used.
How much does it cost in total?
I certainly hope it is worth the amount. Anyway, the instructions on how to install the device can be found here (or at least that’s one way). But I will be posting my own procedure when I put my own Axxess on it. I already disassembled Mazda 3 head unit, so that wont be a problem then.

So, it has been 6 months since my last car oil change huh. The people from Servitek sent me an SMS the other day reminding me that it is 6 months already since the last checkup. (Or course, I have been in Mazda Ortigas couple of weeks ago for the rear suspension replacement).

Here’s another Dear Diary moment update… not you SEO and internet maketing blog huh? Sorry to disappoint. :)
Anyway, the family (me, wifey, matt and sean) all went to Sta. Rosa Laguna to visit my mother-in-law. Ordered breakfast at a McDonald’s drive through in SLEX.. Found out that the road construction (which was terrible Feb 2009) is almost done… Wide road all the way to Sta Rosa exit.
Went home around 2:30pm after we took a walk in SM Sta. Rosa..,. Remembered the pregnant woman walking scene… Sweet!
Today, Monday, I was suppose to go to Mazda Ortigas to have emmo’s oil change but decided to go to Dyna-Tech service center in Sta. Maria instead c/o my brother. Costs me Php1620 vs. Php19,900 in Ortigas.
Also, i am officially announcing that the Car PC project is now complete (with some more things to do in SKins)… GPS is working with Googel earth and that’s the original objective anyway… Yeah, it’s working with the TFT LCD monitor finally mounted in the dash.
The Car PC project has been re-jumpstarted (again) after months of nothingness and no updates. I am currently doing something that I can safely call a step forward the project completion. Right now I am downloading the 16 MB file front end software of the Mazda 3 Car PC, Ride Runner (formerly RoadRunner).. The GUI interface of the whole Car PC thingy…
UPDATE: there! just finished installing it together with WinAmp and the Classic Media Player thing with DivX codec. After setting the path of the players, test it with one of my Divx movies and it worked!
Prior to installing RideRunner, I did manage to install the driver for the TFT LCD VGA color screen monitor (which is also knows as the VM80D TFT LCD VGA monitor)… so the pen and the touch screen monitor now is also working.
Next thing that I am going to do is to configure the USB GPS. Although I have installed it and all, I still have doubt that I did it right…

It’s so sweet indeed!
I brought Emmo, aka ‘the car‘ (my son calls the car Emmo, turo ni daddy) for the first time in Mazda Greenhills to have the brake clip/spring brake replaced. The banging noise has become so unbearable that I had to do something about it to have it fixed.
Finally today, March 16 (that’s a scheduled appointment, called them up last week, Wednesday) I was able to go there and had the spring replaced.
It took 4 hours(?)… that’s the overall time spent in the Mazda casa. The damage? It costs me P2,090. That including the spring set and the 1 hour labor cost of P650. That may be a lot, but I say it worth it… Now, I no longer hear that bugging noise every time Emmo run over a rough part of the road.
I would like to thanks James of Mazda Greenhills for taking care of Emmo and myself.. the whole experience was fine… He checked the car thoroughly. He advised to have the suspension replaced, I told him sure, on the next appointment… well I will be having the 80,000 km checkup real soon anyway.

I have been tinkering with the Mazda 3’s dashboard for a couple of days now. I have been removing a part here and a part there and putting it all back again.
Taking off Emmo’s dash is like taking some sexy camisole of someone for the first time.. You shake and you worried but in nirvana at the same time.
Today though, this afternoon, I completely stripped the dashboard down to just the wiring and all the glutty stuff. I removed the side step that holds the side of the glove compartment. I then remove the glove to remove the silky thingy that hold the screws. When I removed that screws, I managed to pull the whole stereo out.
I then removed the cup holders, the one behind the hand break. Then the hand break cover. When that was removed, I unscrew the one that’s holding the change (barya) box with the cigarrete lighter.
Why did I do this? I want to become familiar with it so I can related to the guys that will be doing the mods of the dashboard.
I installing a car pc on this cool car! Cool!

Went to Sta. Rosa today to visit my mother-in-law before whe goes to Davao on the 14th of February. We left here very early in the morning around 6:45am and arrived there around 8:15am.. Yeah, and hour and a half from Bulacan to Laguna with Emmo.
We went to Enchanted Kingdom that afternoon around 2:00pm..
