BuildMyRank Backlinking Product Review

by jacaranda on April 26, 2011

So, it is true.. people really do search for “Product name” + Review into Google when they are planning to buy something that they already know the name of the product that they want to buy.

That actually happened to me (again) today. After reading a couple of review (from linkbuilding review and linkvanareviews.com – which Dan rated as his number 1 choice of backlinking) about BuildMyRank, I decided to try out their 15 days, 10 backlinks trial.

Some things I have to take note. This was written April 26.. and since I’ll be doing what the folks from linkbuildingreview and linkvanareviews did, I’ll update this post every week or maybe twice amount so we can both monitor the performance of the domains that I included in the 5-domain trial of Buildmyrank. This is it.. Let’s start the review by doing this experiment.

You probably already know what is Buildmyrank and what it does, otherwise you wont be searching and looking for an honest review. So let’s skip all those stuff and get right into how to use it. I’ll even show you screenshot fo the ‘inside’ so you’ll know how to create a project, create the links, submit post for approval and the rest. Of course you’ll also see the keywords I am targetting using buildmyrank private blog networks.

The Inside of Buildmyranks

Check out what you’ll find inside the member’s area of Buildmyrank and discover for yourself how easy the interface is to use. Well, at least for me, I found it easy to navigate.

There are 5 top menu as you can see. Dashboard is the default one once you logged in. The Project tab is where you set up the domain and the links for that domain. For this trial (and the first package) you can put in 5 domain to the system. The Post section is where you type in your uniqe 150 blurb of an article and where you insert your pre-setup link. You can create Writers account in the writer section. If you plan to outsource the use of Buildmyrank, you may want to create a writer account that to give your ‘admin’ login. The last one is Support. I sent out a support email just to try out how fast their response time is, and it took them a couple of hours to reply.. well, at least I checked my email a couple of hours after submitting the email.

The Sites for the Experiment

You can add 5 domain to your account and you can only build backlinks to those domain. So, if you have 20 websites/domains that you are trying to rank, you are only going to use 5 at a time. For me, this is a good thing and one of the reason why I joined Buildmyranks. You see, I am guilty of promoting 10 websites at a time. Believe me, that is a whole lot of mess!

By concentrating on only 5 domains (which I think is still way too many) you will not be stressed of writing content for backlinks and promotion and posting content to the site.

So anyway, I put in there 5 of my domains.

As you can see, I have 4 projects having 1 domain each, except for the Classified site.

For the Chandelier category, my main keyword is currently ranking at page 3, number 26-29.
Both Classified sites are nowhere to be found for the main keyword on Google (But page 1 on Yahoo). The first one is a little older, probably 3 years old but recently got deindex from the latest panda/farmer update of Google (what’s up with that dumb algo). The other one is a year or so old.

The other two, no ranking whatsoever.

April 27 – 4:30am

Yes, I am that excited! Last night, around 9pm or 10pm something, I submitted some more articles for publish. Less than 6 hours later (I need to sleep right?) 3 of the articles are published and 2 are already indexed… checked it myself coz buildmyrank says ‘not checked’ (yet).

As you can see, 2 of the posts are published on PR2 blogs and the other one is on a PR3. I did a title search on the posts, the title, and found the blogs (or the bunch of text on quotes). Yep, 2 are indexed.. the other one maybe in a couple of hours but the main page/index is already updated (Google cache).

—update April 28

I just got a PR5 link for one of my keyword. The Dashboard shows that the link has not been checked if it is indexed but I search on the article title in quotes and there it is. The article is sitting on the index page of a 4 year old PR 5 blog (yes, I did a who.is for every link reported by the system).

I only now have 1 free link left. Of course the free 10 links will not put your website at page 1 of Google. What this free trial basically is, is to show you that the system do work and that your links are really put in an old domain that has PR… high PR I may add:

You have 1 free links remaining with your trial account. You have 13 days left, afterwards your paid subscription will start for 5 domains @ $59/month.

Anyway, now that I know that the system works, will I continue with the service and subscribe for the $59/month? Well, I’m not sure yet. Some of the things I’m thinking is the articles that I will be putting in the system. Hmm.. basically that’s it and the time I must spend submitting those.

Will I subscribe? Stay tuned.

–update April 30

Yep, I have not subscribe yet.. and I did used up all the free credit. The 15 day trial was only 4 days for me and used up all the 10 links.

Am I seeing any result from those free 10 links? Let’ see, this is for the classified site:

Classified sites are nowhere to be found for the main keyword on Google

Update May 8, 2011

After setting up the keywords on all the 5 projects/domains first, also setup the spreadsheet that I will be using to track things down, I decided to subscribe to the monthly service.

I’ll be submitting the articles daily and I’ll be starting it tonight. I’ll do this everyday for a month or two. If the outcome is ok, I’ll continue using it.

I’m using 3 domains that are active, and 2 of them which are ‘sandbox’ or deindexed from Google (just a test if Google will let it go after the Build My Rank links).

FOR the first one, using TT3 pro, main keyword is on Position 22. Domain 2, main keyword is on position 15. Third is on position 22.
Let’s go.

Update May 19

Just a quick update.. I am not pleased with where my posts are ended up. Most are PR1s. What an expensive PR1 links.

I still have 13 queued posts.. let’s see.

update May 28

Hey, just want to post an update, a screen shot on one of the domain that was included in my first 5.. I stopped temporarily submitting articles to this one last week. I needed to make room for some other domains but I checked today and I was surprised that it was doing good.

Compared this one to my April 30 update. They are the same thing but completely improved ranking on today’s update.
