google sandbox

Listen to this… Being a newbie blogger that I am, I’ve been wondering what happened to some of my posts that were doing real well on Google’s SERP for a month or so, then all of the sudden, all of them are gone… vanished.. nothing.. kaput!

What happened to them? Google Sandbox!

What is a Sandbox?

In Google’s SEO terminology, a sandbox is like a ‘holding area’, or a jail if you prefer, for new sites who are suspected of getting abnormal number of backlinks in a short period of time.

It is a, let’s say a virtual place where a new sites are being aged.

Sandbox and aging delay are similar in meaning and many SEO experts use them interchangeably. Aging delay is more self-explanatory – sites are “delayed” till they come of age.

Digital Point recomends ” For new websites we recommend to start link building from ~5 links a week.” (geezz, what a turtle speed!)

How To Get Out of the Sandbox?

Now that you know what a (Google) Sandbox is and how to properly build your incoming links, the question now is.. how do we get out of the Sandbox (if you’re inside it).

The Answer?

The answer is “absolutely nothing

Sit back and wait, thats what I read everywhere… (and I actually copy/paste that from one of the comment I read)… or find a way for Yahhoo to find your site and rank well there…. Googel’s not the only one out there right?

It was also discussed (who knows some group may still be flaming with discussions) that the time spent of a new website in the sandbox ranges from 6 to 9 months! Ouch! Mine’s only been there for 2 weeks!

Oh well… I guess I’ll just have to do what I love to do… Blog about rants and complaints!

Happy blogging!
