The SXSW Interactive Web Awards
November 7th, 2008
What is The SXSW Interactive Web Awards?? I know.. but it really doesn’t concern us. I just want to mention it here, for everybody’s information.
You can read all about SXSW here, but here some facts about SXSW Interactive Web Awards.
This SXSW Interactive Web Awards is really different from “The actuall” SXSW music/film festival… BUt of course it is really super related..
South by Southwest (SXSW, Inc.) is a private company based in Austin, Texas, with a year-round staff of professionals dedicated to building and delivering conference and festival events for entertainment and related media industry professionals. Since 1987, SXSW has produced the internationally recognized Music and Media Conference & Festival.
The SXSW Interactive Web Awards are judged in two separate rounds.
After all entries are received, the first round of judging selects a group of five finalists in each of the categories.
The second round of judging picks the top site from each of these groups of finalists.
Entries are given a score of between 1 and 10 in each of the above criteria and the finalist sites are those that achieve the highest cumulative score.
As the panel of judges are comprised of individuals from around the country and across the world, all judging is accomplished via a special, online interface.
Judges decisions are final.
This year’s competition is open to all sites launched or redesigned in the calendar year 2008.
The only exception is the “Classic” category, which consists of sites launched before January 1, 2008.
Beatles Quotes Blog, Banned?
October 23rd, 2008
My Wordpress hosted Beatles blog (Beatles Quotes) got suspended. I just found out about it now when I tried posting a quote that I heard on this new Beatles V interview CD I bought in Surrey.
The message says:
Warning: We have a concern about some of the content on your blog. Please click here to contact us as soon as possible to resolve the issue and re-enable posting.
So, I sent out a message asking what’s wrong? (Got the same message few months back on my movie blog because of SEO related stuff, hehehe…
Anyway, I’m thinking that I violated a copyright thing or something on my Beatles Quotes blog… Or it could be that Yoko or Sean read one of my post and requested Wordpress to put it down.
Check out the quote I put up there.
Update:
Here’s their reply:
Hi,
Sorry for this. The error message should now be removed.Best,
Anthony

List of Most Famous Classical Music
September 22nd, 2008

I was never really a big fan of classical music but there was a time that I ‘tripped’ on listening to it just for the fun of it and to annoy my housemates.
As a matter of fact there’s this local radio station, 104.3 FM something, that plays classical music.
You may not be aware but I’m sure you know more than a handful of classical music although you don’t know their titles… but the sounds will always be familiar.
You want an example? Take the graduation or the Cadet march when you were in high school. Those music are classical music. Another great example is The Flight of the Bumblebee.
Anyway, I’ll be having a series of post about classical music. It’s more of like trivias for it and some famous movies and other things that the particular classical music was used.
In the meantime, while I’m thinking of series of post to do, let’s list the most famous classical music. It’s in no particular order (i think).
- Beethoven - 5th Symphony
- Tchaikovsky - 1812 Overture

“I Will Always Return”
September 17th, 2008

I hear the wind call your name
It calls me back home again
It sparks up the fire - a flame that still burns
Oh it’s to you I’ll always return
I still feel your breath on my skin
I hear your voice deep within
The sound of my lover - a feeling so strong
It’s to you - I’ll always belong
Now I know it’s true
My every road leads to you
And in the hour of darkness darlin’
Your light gets me through
Wanna swim in your river - be warmed by your sun
Bathe in your waters - cos you are the one
I can’t stand the distance - I can’t dream alone
I can’t wait to see you - Ya I’m on my way home
Oh I hear the wind call your name
The sound that leads me home again
It sparks up the fire - a flame that still burns
Oh, it’s to you - I will always return
Next time, I’ll find and post the utube video of this song.. if there’s any... for now enjoy the romantic quotes of the lyrics.
